The third edition of IE’s Impact Weekend, took place recently (you guessed it, over the weekend) and brought together students and social entrepreneurs to network, share ideas, and ultimately compete in a business plan competition. After the initial open pitching session on Friday night, five teams moved on to the weekend activities, which included sessions and mentoring at IE Business School’s Area 31 and the HUB Madrid.
Sunday evening, the teams pitched their ideas before a jury. The top three ideas:
LiveBeats: A mobile application that helps deaf people listen to music through vibrations.
IESol: A project that crowdfunds solar power off the grid, with revenue sharing in exchange of micro investment.
Ansuya: After school and weekend trade schools that educate and empower young women in urban slums.
Runners-up IESol are pictured above, working away at the HUB Madrid.
