This week, the student-led IE Africa Club hosted “Africa Day” and invited experts from the African continent to speak about their work experience and background.  The topic:  “Mapping Investment Opportunities in Africa.”  And as the event attendees (primarily students) learned, investment opportunities are apparently endless in Africa.  In fact, each and every sector is worth watching according to the event’s keynote speaker Chido Okoro of GlaxoSmithKline.  And, Okoro says, the thinking of foreign companies “has shifted from should we invest in Africa to how should we manage the risk of our investment?”

After the keynote, Okoro sat on a panel with Neeta Somers, Counselor Political of the South African Embassy in Madrid; Balexis Kilonzi Kasombo, First Councilor of the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Madrid; and Ericsson’s Jason Dulquin.  The discussion was moderated by Emzingo Group’s Daniel Pulaski (IMBA 2010).  (all pictured above.)
