Ambassador Seyyed Hossein Mousavian (in the center of the above photo) visited the IE Business School campus for the opening discussion of the school’s Iran Dialogues series.
Dr. Hossein Mousavian, who is an associate research scholar at Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, was the head of the Foreign Relations Committee of Iran’s National Security Council from 1997 to 2005. He served as spokesman for Iran in its nuclear negotiations with the European Union from 2003 to 2005 and is the author of “The Iranian Nuclear Crisis: A Memoir” published by Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in June 2012.
“Talking to Iran” focused on whether the nuclear issue and international sanctions against Iran have “crowded out” all other issues in dialogue with (and on) Iran, especially those that could enable Iran and the West to find common ground on the likes of Afghanistan and Syria. After Dr. Hossein Mousavian’s talk, the floor was opened up to a Q&A with the audience, which included students from IE’s Master in International Relations program.
