One of the best parts about living and working in Spain are the holidays. While Americans divide their small number of vacation days into three day weekends (and often remain on call during that “vacation day”), many companies in Spain shut down for the entire hot month of August. IE is no exception (my apologies for those still working on campus during the August break and my thanks for keeping things running.)
Also, who can’t love looking at a blue sky like that, day after day after day? (especially today as I leave my office and the summer officially begins.)
And, if you like, check out this research from Mercer about employee holiday entitlements around the world and see how your country stacks up.
