What Is out There?
Video competition finalists
As part of the recent Social Impact Finance Forum held on the IE Business School campus, SCIEF (that’s short for Saudi-Spanish Center for Islamic Economics and Finance) held a video competition called “What is Out There?” More than 60 teams from 40 countries submitted videos which detailed alternative ways of financing a project or initiative (e.g. crowdfunding or ethical loans). The top ten (pictured above) were flown into Madrid to present at the forum.
Three winners were chosen and received €2,000 each. Watch their videos here:
- “Solidarity Fund” by Mateo Álvarez of Spain
- “Garut Waste Bank” byAnton Abdul Fatah of Indonesia
- “Yomken.com: The Crowdfunding Model with Islamic Microfinance Principles” by Tamer Taha of Egypt
